About Destiny

Apparel Design & Development, Aspiring Educator

As a fourth-generation sewist, Destiny grew up watching their grandmother pattern draft and sew. Not only did Destiny wear the clothes she made, but they also began learning how to sew from their beloved Po-Po. Destiny's interest in sewing developed into a deep passion for understanding how clothes were made throughout space and time, as well as how to pattern for all unique body types and overcome fit and sizing issues for custom pattern drafting. Their pursuit of knowledge and relentless problem-solving led Destiny to study Fashion Design & Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).

Beyond textiles, Destiny's interests in food studies and human ecology combined with their commitment to improving the accessibility of information and skill development to the masses led them to pursue a Bachelor in Education specializing in Home Economics at the University of British Columbia (UBC) after graduating from KPU.
